Overview
Traditionally, engineering teams lack formal training on how to protect their systems from cyber threats. They are rarely exposed to the tools, techniques or mindsets of bad actors, intent on compromising their software.
This one-day experience is designed to counter this very problem. Not just a security workshop, Capture the Flag embodies a high-energy learning experience where theory meets practice. Guided by our team of securty practitioners, attendees are given the opportunity to attack software targets using real-world simulations - albeit in safe and secure environments.
Why? Understanding how threat actors compromise software is the first step in mitigating against them. Capture the Flag elevates security culture within tech teams, helping them to think like threat attackers so that that they can identify potential weaknesses in the code they write, test and ship.
Embedding CTF challenges into engineering practice isn't just about sharpening skills - it's about building resilience. By exposing teams to real-world attack vectors, engineers develop the instincts to spot and remediate vulnerabilities before they ever reach production.
The payoff? Lower costs from security patches, incident response, and compliance risks-not to mention the reputational damage a breach can cause.
Outline
This 1-day experience is designed and delivered by our internal cyber security team. Combining elements of hands-on learning and a little bit of competition, teams will learn and compete in a sensory-rich environment. Bookended with a short formal training session and guidance from our team throughout the day, participants are equiped with the knowledge and mindset to successfully work through the various challenges set out by our team.
We provide the CTF platform. Participants need only bring their laptop, a clear head and willingness to think laterally and differently.
Requirements
Attendees need only bring their laptops of which must be able to run a remote desktop connection to access our cloud-based virtual machines.
