GOTO Amsterdam 2022

  • 12th-16th June 2022

  • Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam

We are delivering a KotlinJS/React masterclass and KotlinJS/Typescript talk at s GOTO Amsterdam 2022.

So, we're back GOTO for another year, and this time we will be delivering both a masterclass and a talk at the conference.

KotlinJS and React Masterclass

The "Learning Kotlin/JS by Building Web Apps in React & Redux" masterclass will take place on Sunday 12th June 2022. Here you will learn the full Kotlin/JS feature set by building Web Applications in React and Redux from scratch using the Kotlin Gradle DSL. You will then iteratively assemble a rich UI via the Kotlin/JS language and Kotlin-React DSL, and use Redux and React Hooks to manage application state.

You'll also learn how coroutines simplify asynchronous workflows and concurrency, and how interoperability with TypeScript allows you to leverage existing JS libraries in a strongly typed way.

By the end of the workshop you will have been exposed to some of the advanced features of Kotlin and be comfortable using Kotlin for JS platforms.

KotlinJS versus Typescript

Garth and Eamonn will also be giving a talk comparing KotlinJS and Typescript. The talk basically provides in-depth coverage of new language features in Kotlin and TypeScript, and provide insights into where Kotlin and Typescript are headed, as well as their suitability for different kinds of distributed architectures.

Details of their talks can be found on the conference schedule page and details about the conference in its entirety can be found on the conference website..
