Kotlin Masterclass

We will be hosting a Kotlin masterclass at this year's GOTO Copenhagen event in November.

The GOTO Conference is a software development conference designed for developers, team leads, architects and project managers and is organised "for developers by developers". Up to 2000 developers, architects, team leads and project managers will explore 360 degrees of software development, covering topics like APIs, Artificial Intelligence, Ethics & Security, Microservices, Cloud and so much more.

Our trainers, Garth Gilmour and Eamonn Boyle, will be hosting a masterclass on 21st November - Creating a Microservices Architecture with Kotlin, Ktor and Event Streams. This full day workshop will delve into three of the rising stars in server-side development - the Kotlin programming language, the Ktor services framework and the support for event streaming provided by frameworks such as Kafka.

Kotlin Talk

In addition, Garth and Eamonn will be speaking on Mon 18th on A Veterans Guide to Transitioning Android Teams Into Kotlin. The talk will focus on how we as a company have made the transition from Java to Kotlin. By the end of the talk the audience should be aware of the advantages of moving Android teams to Kotlin and the challenges they are likely to face along the way as well as techniques that have been developed by us for coping with them.
